The Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary is a diverse and dynamic Catholic family parish community, committed to Jesus Christ, guided by the Holy Spirit and relying on the Patronage of His Mother, Mary.
God's Word, his Son, Jesus Christ, is the one who calls us ever deeper into his life and love. The Spirit of God is the sometimes powerful wind, at other times the gentle breeze that moves each of us to proclaim the dying and rising of Jesus. The Eucharist, the very Real Presence of Jesus in Community, Word and Sacrament lies at the core of our faith journey. In Eucharist we are nourished by the Body and Blood of Jesus in order that we might be his light to the world.
The Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary plants itself firmly in the tradition of our Catholic faith. We follow the inspired leadership of Pope Benedict XI and the guidance of the Diocese of Youngstown, Bishop George V. Murry S.J. The Creed, the Catechism of the Catholic Church and traditional Church teachings handed down through the ages provide us with intellectual, moral and spiritual roots.
We will serve not only the needs of our Parish Church, school and individual members, but also the broader needs of our society, in union with other other parishes of the Ashtabula County Deanery and the Diocese of Youngstown, through worship, stewardship, education, Christian service, evangelisation and other programs.
We receive with love all who come to us. We provide an environment that enables us to grow spiritually, building our lives on the values modeled by Jesus in the Gospels. An essential element of our daily life is putting the Church's social justice teachings into action as we reach out to all, especially the voiceless and marginalized in society.
